About Smart Gravel Calculator

Free, accurate gravel estimating for homeowners and contractors — 36 calculators, no signup, no paywall.

    Why this exists

Ordering gravel involves three conversions most people do not do often: square feet to cubic feet, cubic feet to cubic yards, and cubic yards to tons. Get any of them wrong and you either pay a second delivery fee or you have four tons of stone you did not need.

Every calculator here does those conversions with the correct density for the actual stone you are buying, adds a realistic compaction allowance, and tells you what it will cost delivered.

    How we build the estimates

The formulas, the density table, and the pricing sources are all documented openly on how it works. Nothing is hidden, and you can check any figure against your own supplier's quote.

Prices are 2026 national averages presented as a range, because aggregate pricing varies enormously with haul distance. Treat the range as a sanity check on a quote, not a replacement for one.

    How we pay for it

The calculators are free and always will be. We earn a commission when someone buys a tool or material through an Amazon link on the site, at no extra cost to the buyer. That is the entire business model — we do not sell your data or gate anything behind a signup.
